Manifest and Sarkcess best sum up the past couple of days. I mean the brawl has been a whiff of fresh air to the rather stale life in the Ghanaian music industry and the nation at large. It was the perfect escape we desperately needed from the consequences of our poor political choice way back in 2012. So yea, we really needed that distraction Usually, this is not my kind of jam. But with this rather frivolous beef, I couldn’t resist. Mainly because “the euphoria of a beef was greater than the actual cow.” You may not be familiar with this quote because I coined it.
Many Ghanaians, myself included, were just happy. And it wasn’t because we belonged to any faction of the great rap divide. Let’s be honest. This has been the most exciting thing since Terry Bonchaka came out with the “Puul3l3” dance. Which best describes how unscintillating the Ghanaian music scene has been for a long time. Pretty much appalling if you’re not in for the sugar coating.
To me, Sark is the best flow-king (no pun intended). I think Sark is the director of “How to Get Away With Murder” because he can murder any track and get away with it. Yup, I said it. He is the King of Gh music. On the other hand, M.anifest is plain scholarly. He’s witty and possesses a glib of verbal aptitude with the Queen’s language. Something I can very much relate to.
Manifest is a sesquipedalian; a.k.a he likes using big words and I appreciate him for that. This is much evident in the use of the Mary Poppins word, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” In the ears of his ‘friends,’ this makes him deep and sophisticated. But in the words of Sark, ” He might as well go and lecture in Legon because the use of big English words only secures a kiosk in Klagon.”
The cause of the beef I cannot tell. But if there is any underlying sense I can derive from this, it is that they are both battling for the top spot. In fact, they are both really good in the distinct styles they have chosen. The only difference is that one is way more successful than the other. And as his name suggests, Sark is the more “Sarkcessful” one of the two.
Everybody has a desire to be successful. But wanting something with all your soul, with every fiber of your being, is not enough. You have to believe you can achieve it. You really have to believe that you can have it. And believe it without a shadow of doubt. This is what in my understanding, Sarkodie portrays in his songs. Way before he was a hit, he spoke of being the best and now that he’s the best he still says he’s the best. To others, this may be bragging but it simply making use of the Law Of Attraction.
Back in 1937, when Napoleon Hill originally published his book Think And Grow Rich, everybody wanted an explanation of how manifestation changes thought to reality. In other words, everyone wanted to know how the formula for the Law Of Attraction, which is set out below, actually works.
Desire + Belief + Expectancy + Action = Manifestation
So Napoleon Hill offered an explanation. He said: “When faith [by which he meant belief] is blended with the vibration of thought, the subconscious mind instantly picks up the vibration, translates it into its spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to the Infinite Intelligence, as in the case of prayer.”
What he meant to say in plain English is that any thought which passes through the brain is simply an energetic process, and that energy can be converted to a material form in the real world. It is that simple. Simply because you are a human being, living on this planet, you have the power to achieve anything you want just by speaking it into existence.
If there is anything that you want in life, make a list of all that comes with it. Maybe it’s a new job, the higher salary, your future husband/wife or even a car. Knowing exactly what you want begins the creation process, and writing it down makes it even more powerful. Research has shown you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you simply write them down. Most importantly, focus on how all these things will ultimately make you feel. At the end of the day, the goal is to be able to capture the feeling these accomplishments will produce and that’s what brings in the manifestations.
Be patient, but keep at it. Be sure that you’re taking action every day that will bring you closer to your goals, but understand that nothing can be rushed. And once you get it, don’t stop saying it. Close your ears to the negative energy and be good at what you’re doing. But be true to yourself to stay humble. It doesn’t really matter if they see it or not because at the end of the day it will be between you and God to account for your actions.
Sometimes dreams come true. And so all the sense that I am trying to share with you is that you can get all the Sarkcess. Provided, of course, that you want it badly enough, and you totally believe that it will M.anifest for you.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:1)
